September 16, 2007 was a book lover’s dream come true! The second Brooklyn Book Festival presented exciting and innovative fiction and non-fiction programs with author discussions and readings--all adding up to great day in the sun, thousands of books, and a wonderfully celebratory spirit. The heart and soul of the Brooklyn Book Festival are our great booksellers, magical and inspiring authors, and an amazing audience—twenty thousand visitors from all over the country turned out for this spectacular event!
The day was filled with an enthusiasm and appreciation for the written word--the poetry slam, animated discussions and presentations by authors such as A.M. Homes and Francine Prose, Pete Hamill, Amitav Ghosh, Mo Willems, Gail Carson Levine, and dozens of others; the infectiously entertaining define-a-thon; and the generosity of so many authors who stayed to sign books and speak with their fans.
Thanks to everyone for making the 2007 Brooklyn Book Festival a bestseller. We look forward to welcoming you back next year on Sunday, September 14, 2008 for an even bigger and better festival!
